Summer Camp 2008

Dog Training Camp for kids, ages 10-14, is being offered by Susquehanna Service Dogs and is designed to teach clicker training and basic dog care. This camp is for kids who would like to spend a week with service dogs in-training, and who would like to have hands on experience while they learn training techniques from our professional staff. Each camper will learn about Susquehanna Service Dogs and what the dogs are trained to do when they assist people with disabilities. Also, each camper will be given the daily opportunity to work with and train his or her 'own' service dog, while performing the tasks they will need to become a certified 'working' dog; this includes taking 'their' dog out in public as part of their training.

The cost is $350 per camp session (lunches will be provided). The first session of camp will by July 7-11 and the second session will be July 14-18 (with a possible 3rd session July 21-25 depending on registration). Registration closes June 20th (sooner if the maximum number of attendees is reached). Each camp week will be limited to 10 attendees, so register early.

Transportation

Campers will be delivered to the SSD kennel between 9:15 and 9:30 AM and will be picked up at the SSD kennel between 3:30 and 3:45 PM each day by their parents. Transportation during the day will be done by SSD staff.

Deposit of $100 and return of Camp Application will be due no later than June 30, 2008. Remainder of camp registration fee ($250) will be due at the start of camp, July 7, July 14 or July 21, 2008.
