Puppy Cam
Service Dogs in Training!
After spending their first weeks on camera, the Crayon litter has moved to the next stage of their career. Shamrock, Slate, Denim, Rusty, Sienna, Lavender, Copper, Onyx and Jade have joined their puppy raiser families, who will raise them to be service dogs.
For the next 15-18 months, the puppy raiser families will help theses puppies grow into mature dogs that have the skills they need to help children and adults with disabilities to live full, independent lives in their community. While they're with their puppy raisers, the puppies will gain all sorts of new experiences and visit many new places so they will learn how to perform their skills in any environment. Click here to learn more about puppy raisers and their important role in a puppy's life.
By the time the Crayon litter is two years old, they'll know how to behave like service dogs. They'll be able to retrieve just about anything, including car keys and cordless phones, open and close doors, turn light switches on and off, help individuals balance and purchase items in stores. The dogs even learn how to become “invisible” in places such as restaurants. You can learn more about the steps in the Crayon litter's journey to becoming service dogs by visiting Susquehanna Service Dogs.
Even though you can't watch the puppies on camera anymore, you can still be part of their journey by making a donation. You are an important part of their journey – they would not be able to become service dogs without your support!
