Game Descriptions

Ball Lottery
This game consists of a numbered ball retrieve. The dog retrieving the highest total wins. (Ring #11)
Cake Walk
Here's your chance to win some prizes (including a cake!) It's the old-fashioned Cake Walk with a canine twist. Participants (including dogs) will form a large circle in the ring. When music starts they will begin heeling their dogs in a counter-clockwise circle. The event leader will walk clockwise carrying a prize. When the music stops the prize is awarded to the closest person in front of the leader. (Rings #8, #9 & 11)
Clean Plate Club
Dogs are presented with a series of food items which they are expected to eat. If a dog does NOT eat an item he is excused. Winner( s) will be the dog(s) that eat everything. Items may include dog treats, crackers, cheese, hot dog, lemon slices, etc. (Ring #8)
D-O-G
(Ring #8)
Doggy Limbo
The limbo with your dogs going under a bar. Two simultaneous groups for a large (over 18") and small dogs. (Ring #9)
Going for Pairs Relay
Several pairs of socks will be placed in a pile in the middle of the ring. Teams will take dogs one at a time to the pile to retrieve a sock. Team with the most PAIRS of socks wins the heat. (Ring #11)
Gossip
Dogs will be lined up with their handlers. Commands will be sent down the line. How well will your dog listen to gossip? (Ring #9)
Kiss Off
How long would your dog kiss your face without stopping if it really mattered? Here's your chance to find out.
Leave It
Dogs will be placed in a seated position in front of a paper plate, with their handlers by their side. Dogs will be told to "stay" by whatever means the handler chooses. One at a time, treats (dog food, dog treats, cheese, pieces of hot dog) will be placed on the plates by the stewards. Once a dog breaks and goes for the goodies, he will be excused. The final three dogs remaining will be the winners. (Ring #8)
Marathon Down
Handlers will place dogs into a down position. The group will be presented with a variety of distractions. Winners will be the dogs who remain down the longest. (Ring #9)
Musical Hoops
Musical chairs with dogs. Hula Hoops will be placed in a row. Handlers heel their dogs around while music plays. When music stops, handlers will SIT (or "down") their dogs with at least TWO paws in a hoop. Dog without a hoop is excused. A hoop is removed, and the process continues until last three dogs get ribbons. (Ring #9)
Over/Under/Through
Can you coax your dog through our obstacle course? I wonder who will be the fastest. (Ring #9)
Puppy At Heart Relay
A relay race with teams heeling dogs over a course, dogs must follow commands to sit, heel calmly while handler carries a dog treat on the spoon (no dropping), and then retrieve a piece of hot dog from a paper grocery bag. Fastest team wins. (Ring #11)
Red Light Green Light
We'll put a new face on this old favorite. Handlers will heel their dogs on green and stop their dog on red! (Ring #11)
Ring Around the Rosey
Handlers heel their dogs in a circle while the audience sings "Ring Around the Rosey". At the word "down", all handlers will put their dogs into a down position. Last dog down is eliminated. Last three dogs get ribbons. (Ring #11)
Snoopy Says
"Simon Says" with a twist. Your dog plays too. A fast-paced game where the handler has to pay attention and the dog follows instructions too. Can you prevent being eliminated? (Ring #11)
Tail Wagging
Two teams line up on opposite sides of the ring with handlers facing their dogs and dog tails facing inward. Can you get your dog so happy he'll wag his tail/tush by just saying the names of fruits or vegetables? The team with the best tailwaggers will advance to a wag-off to determine the wagging champion! (Ring #8)
You Can Dress'Em Up
Handler will take dog to a box of clothing, where dog will be dressed in a Tshirt (2 legs through sleeves), scarf and two socks, then heeled back to start, tagging next team member. Fastest team wins heat. Eliminations to get final winners. (Ring #8)
