Program Specialist

Brief Description of the Position:

This position exists to lead, instruct, and monitor the interdisciplinary team so that the person centered plan is developed, implemented, and evaluated and so the interdisciplinary team’s efforts are coordinated and consistent to that the people experience a high quality of life.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, developing and implementing teaching strategies; role modeling effective interactions; documentation to include outreach and network; household management; providing transportation; assisting in personal care when needed; coordinating activities and services; establishing effective relationships with each person using services.

Qualifications for the Position:

Must meet 6400 Regulation licensing requirements to include a Bachelor’s Degree in the human service field (including, but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitative counseling, and psychology).  Minimum of three years full time experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities.  Demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; read, interpret, and apply written information such as policies, procedures, person centered plans, training and staff development reading, clinical research findings, and psychological and other therapeutic assessments; understand, develop and implement learning objectives; basic household management skills; experience with group leadership; community network experience; able to pass child abuse, state police and FBI clearances; possession of a valid drivers license and be able to drive; ability to transport self and individuals to appointments as scheduled; ability to meet emergencies; physical ability to lift.

Compensation and Status:

Community Support Associate/Support Aide
Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg and Chambersburg Areas

Position Description:
This position exists to teach, coach, model, and accompany individuals with developmental disabilities so that they are involved in family, neighborhood, civic, cultural and religious activities and events, meet new people, develop friendships, exercise choices, and acquire the competencies to maintain these activities and accomplish personal goals. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, developing and implementing teaching strategies; documentation, to include data collection and report writing; community outreach and networking; household management; providing transportation; assisting in personal care when needed; coordinating activities and services; establishing effective relationships with all persons affiliated with the house; and using public transportation.
Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. be 18 years of age or older and an interest in community involvement. Must possess a high school diploma or GED, one year stable work, a valid driver's license, have daily access to a privately maintained vehicle, ability to pass child abuse, State Police and FBI Clearances. Must be able to work a varied schedule to include late afternoon, evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights.
Compensation & Status:
Full time openings exist in the Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg areas. Salary range $9.50 to $10.00 based on location. Excellent benefit package for FT positions.

Home Based Support Specialist

Position Description:
Home-based services provides support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, in their homes. Duties include assisting persons to meet their personal care needs, participation in community integrative activities and implement teaching strategies.
Qualifications:
One-year work experience in the field, excellent oral and written communication skills. be 18 years of age or older and have an interest in community involvement. Must possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, have daily access to a privately maintained vehicle, ability to pass child abuse, State Police and FBI Clearances. Must be able to work a varied schedule to include late afternoon, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules varied based on needs.
Compensation & Status:
$10.00/hr
