Ann joined our Keystone leadership team in February 1990, charged with the task of developing our fundraising programs and creating an awareness of our programs and mission throughout our service areas.
Ann came to us with broad experience in all facets of development, having most recently served as the Director of Development of Hemlock Girl Scout Council where she successfully led their first capital campaign raising over 2.5 million, established an endowment program, The Juliet Lowe Society, and institutionalized their annual giving program. Hemlock Girl Scout Council provides programs to over 15,000 girls in 15 central Pennsylvania counties.
Ann came to Harrisburg from Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she was Branch Executive for the YWCA, in 1975, to serve as the Executive Director of the Greater Harrisburg Young Women’s Christian Association. During her seven year tenure the YWCA was taken under Eminent Domain by the Redevelopment Authority demolished and relocated twice. Ann, as chief executive officer, was responsible for all facets of the relocation, rebuilding a demoralized Board of Directors and running a capital campaign. Today the YWCA is a vital resource for women, girls and families in our community.
An avid community volunteer Ann has served as president of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (AFP), the Junior League of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Hospital Auxiliary. She has been active nationally with AFP, having served on the International Foundation Board and many committees. She presently is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Central Pennsylvania, Susquehanna Valley Planned Parenthood, Kiwanis Club Harrisburg East Shore and Red Land-Fairview Township and AFP of Central Pennsylvania. She is a board member of The Byrnes Health Education Center, PANO, the Kiwanis Pennsylvania District Foundation and is the convener for the Harrisburg Region Leave a Legacy™ effort.
An active member of area Chambers of Commerce, Ann serves on the International Committee, Awards Committee and Education Committee of Greater Harrisburg Chamber and CREDC, as well as the Business Women’s Forum Committee and the Nonprofit Committee for West Shore Chamber. Additionally, she is a member of the Carlisle Chamber and the Lancaster Chamber.
Ann Moffitt, ACFRE was granted the John Baum Award in 1999 and Central Pa NSFRE Outstanding Fundraiser of the Year and Leadership Harrisburg Leader of the Year awards in 1994. She was on the founding committee of The Whitaker Center and served as their first development director. Most recently she was honored to be selected as the Legacy Leader of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg and A Women of Influence by Journal Publications.
Ann received her Certified Fund Raising Executive status in 1984 and her ACFRE status in 2005. She graduated from York College in 1972 with a BA in Behavioral Sciences, and she holds an Associates Degree in Psychology and has attended graduate school at Penn State Harrisburg. Having grown up in York County, Ann was active as a teen leader in the YWCA Y-Teen Club and became involved in National YWCA programs and training at an early age. Her first job was teaching crafts to children when she was 13 and professionally as Assistant Health Education Director of the YWCA in York when she was 19. Even then Ann was active in the community as a founder of the VD Education Council and CONTACT York.
