Our treatment philosophy is based on the fundamental belief that all people, regardless of their disability, can live happy, productive lives in their community. Our innovative treatment strategies are respectful, empirically based and time-limited. When someone presents a challenge, we look at how we can help that person cope by analyzing what we need to do differently to support him/her.

Keystone Residence of Lancaster provides residential, family living, family support, and supported living services throughout Lancaster County, and is funded by Lancaster County MH/MR, Delaware county, Bucks County, and private contracts.

Mental Retardation Services

Supporting individuals in neighborhoods throughout the Lancaster County community, Keystone Residence's homes are a valued alternative to life in an institution.

These supports assist people in realizing their fullest potential and living a life of accomplishment and success.

In Keystone's mental health residential services for adults, our emphasis is on helping people learn new ways of coping with life's challenges.

Mental Health Services for Adults

In Keystone's mental health residential services for adults, our emphasis is on helping people learn new ways of coping with life's challenges. In Lancaster County, we provide four levels of support. A mental health assessment provides the information necessary to determine which level of support a person needs.

At Keystone, we believe that people learn new ways of coping through planned opportunities provided in a caring, supportive environment.

Family Support Services

Keystone's Family Support Services is a program designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities who are either living on their own or with their natural families. Our two primary goals in this program are supporting people to make healthy choices and keeping families together and involved.

In Family Support, we provide services necessary for individuals and families to live healthy, productive lives. We have seen that families are strengthened and better able to cope when care, resources and supports are available to individuals within the family.

Family Living Program

A specialized, long term foster care program, Family Living enables a person with a disability to live as a part of a family. The benefits are many for the people who are served in this program.

Participating families receive the richness gained from an additional family member. They also receive:

  • Comprehensive training
  • Support from a Keystone Family Living Specialist
  • Monthly reimbursement
