Keystone Residence of Lancaster County
Keystone Drop-In Center
Since 2001, the Keystone Drop-In Center has served as a fun, safe and productive environment for individuals with mental illnesses to spend their time. The center is located at the rear entrance of 230 South Queen St. in Lancaster, PA 17603, and is fully handicapped-accessible. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the center is open for all holidays that fall throughout the work week.
Membership is easily attainable. Any resident of Lancaster County who has been diagnosed with a mental illness is eligible to attend the center. There is an annual membership fee of $5.00, with flexible payment options to those who are in need. All money collected from the membership fee goes towards activities and supplies that are required on a regular basis.
Each person wishing to join the Drop-In Center must have a case manager, doctor, psychiatrist, counselor or psychologist complete a referral form. The referral form can be picked up at the Drop-In Center, retrieved by fax (please contact the program coordinator), or click here to download it from this webpage.
Drop-In Center activities include art and craft projects such as painting, coloring, beaded jewelry and woodcrafts, as well as special craft activities that are planned throughout the month. Games of Bingo are organized twice per month, usually on Thursdays and Fridays. The center also has a wonderful collection of games, books and movies on hand for members to borrow. Internet access is available, and there is a billiards table in the recreation room accessible to all members.
Lunches are served daily for $0.50, or a chore may be done in lieu of payment. Members are encouraged to assist with the cooking and cleanup of the meals.
The Keystone Drop-In Center welcomes donations of time or various items to be used for activities or games. These donations help us keep our members busy, engaged and in good spirits. Everything donated or volunteered is tax-deductible and, most importantly, loved and appreciated by all of our members. Help us make a difference in our members' lives!
If you are seeking information, have questions or want to make a donation, please contact Genevieve Kelly at 717-397-9379 or by email at gkelly @ keystonehumanservices.org.
