Keystone Human Services

Keystone Institute

meeting

Since its inception, Keystone has held a set of common values that have guided its work. The Keystone Institute leads the training and educational efforts on teaching and sharing the organization's core values and vision.

Keystone's history began with the thought that all people could live successful lives in the community and that many people were unnecessarily vulnerable to being excluded from those communities. The philosophy and concepts of: The Developmental Model, Community, Family, Friends, Work, Integration, Individual Choice, Social Role Valorization and Highly Individualized Services have been enduring concepts interwoven into Keystone's fabric since its founding in 1972.

At The Keystone Institute, we are offering an extensive and sequential training series building on ideas associated with helping people to have rich and full lives. We bring these ideas both to people directly associated with Keystone - employees, family members, people served - as well as our community. We have been intentional in helping people prepare increasingly for taking leadership roles in many different ways, and we know that our activities will help prepare our staff for important roles of responsibility and leadership in the work of the agencies that comprise Keystone Human Services.
