Spice It Up with Keystone Residence and Steelton at the Hot & Spicy International Festival

Join Keystone Residence and the Borough of Steelton for the second annual Hot & Spicy International Festival on May 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on North Front Street in Steelton, PA. This block party-style festival features vendor booths from area restaurants, confectioners, artisans and other venders; a salsa competition; the popular band BUNCHAFUNK; children’s activities and much more! Admission is free. Hot & Spicy International Festival benefits the work of Keystone Residence.

Harrisburg, PA (PRWeb) April 10, 2009 – Spice it up with Keystone Residence and the Borough of Steelton at the second annual Hot & Spicy International Festival on Saturday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on North Front Street in Steelton, PA. This block party-style festival features food, activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Local restaurants, confectioners, artisans and other vendors will be serving up some of their hottest dishes and items for people to sample or purchase. Festival goers can vote on their favorite hot, spicy and flavorful salsa in the People’s Choice salsa competition. This year’s entertainment features the popular jazz/rock/funk band BUNCHAFUNK. Also performing will be the Egyptian Moon Dance Company and the Central Dauphin Community Band. Rounding out the activities are a basket raffle and the Kid’s Korner, where children can participate in craft activities.

Admission to Hot & Spicy International Festival is free, though some activities may charge a fee. All proceeds benefit the invaluable work of Keystone Residence.

Festival goers can start the community celebration early by walking in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, a benefit walk sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield on May 30. Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) is one of 27 local nonprofit service organizations that will benefit. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. on City Island in Harrisburg, PA. The 5K Walk kicks off at 9 a.m. and the One-Mile Fun Walk begins at 9:15 a.m. Following the walk will be food, entertainment and children’s activities. While registration is free, walkers are encouraged to raise support for their local organizations – 100% of the support raised will go directly to Susquehanna Service Dogs and other participating organizations.
