Community for All – Moldova

In partnership with global, regional, and local organizations and authorities, Keystone Human Services International is initiating a transformation of Moldova’s system of care for individuals with disabilities by creating a community-based system of services and supports. Community for All seeks to build an enriched environment where all people are united in a common spirit celebrating each person’s unique abilities.
Community for All Moldova – Bridge Funding During the Global Economic Crisis

Funded by the Soros Foundation – Moldova
The Community for All-Moldova program is developing community-based services and supports for children with disabilities who have been institutionalized or who are at risk of institutionalization. Since its inception, the strong commitments of the local and national government to partner in this program have made it possible to develop high quality services for children with disabilities. With bridge funding from the Soros Foundation-Moldova, Keystone Human Services International Moldova Association is ensuring the sustainability and expansion of the Community for All-Moldova achievements through economically difficult times. Not only will existing community-based services be preserved, but the development of new planned services will continue and 200-225 new jobs will be created.
Joint Media Strategy Group
July 2009 – present

As a part of a coordinated effort with the Community for All-Moldova program, Keystone Human Services International Moldova Association and four other nongovernmental organizations developed a Joint Media Strategy Group to promote social inclusion in the community, increase the community’s awareness of disability issues and encourage acceptance of people with disabilities. The Joint Media Strategy Group seeks to empower people with disabilities and their parents to document their own stories for publication in the media, as well as educate journalists and other members of both traditional and social media about the positive portrayal of people with disabilities and disability issues.
Equal Access to Education

In keeping with our vision of a world where all people are accepted and included in the community, Keystone Human Services International Moldova Association is working to increase inclusive education opportunities for all children. Through the Equal Access to Education project, children with disabilities will receive support to be included in their local community schools. The project will develop best-practice models of inclusive school programs, as well as the regulations and standards needed to sustain these programs. In addition, the project aims to increase the schools' capacities to provide the necessary support and to encourage communities to accept children with disabilities in the schools.
Unitate Children and Family Center, Tudora, Stefan Voda raion, Moldova

Established in 2004, the Unitate (Unity) Children and Family Center unites families in difficult situations with services and supports to help them lead healthy, active lives as valued members of the community.
Vis Children and Family Center, Bacioi, Chisinau municipality, Moldova
2006 - present

A realization of a dream to foster an environment where all people are valued for their unique gifts, the Vis (Dream) Children and Family Center provides psychological, educational and health services and supports for children and families at risk or experiencing hardships.
Open World Eurasian Countries Hosting Program
2008
Sponsored by the Open World Leadership Center at the U.S. Library of Congress
Through the Open World Eurasian Countries Hosting Program, Keystone has been provided with the opportunity to share knowledge, expertise and important cultural perspectives with Ministry of Health officials, health care professionals and leaders from nongovernmental organizations in Moldova. Focusing on Primary Health Care Systems Reform, delegates gained ideas and practices that they can adapt and apply in their own work.
Community-Based Supports to Children and Families in Difficult Social Situations
July 2006 – December 2008

Following our vision to advance the human spirit, Keystone Human Services International Moldova Association expanded the services of the successful Unitate (Unity) Children and Family Center in Tudora and established the Vis (Dream) Children and Family Center in Bacioi. Unitate and Vis provide individualized services for Moldova’s vulnerable children and families, helping them live full, healthy lives as accepted members of the community.
