Community Living Arrangements
Community Living Arrangements are group homes designed to provide caring, structured environments that empower individuals to grow. Located in suburban settings throughout Connecticut, Community Living Arrangements support children and adults with intellectual disabilities to realize their personal potential as they pursue independent and meaningful lives in the community. Through a variety of supports ranging from assistance with daily living skills to medical support, the program supports individuals to develop personal relationships, enhance community living skills and increase independence. Community Living Arrangements are funded by several state agencies, including the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Social Services and the Department of Children and Families.

Individual and Family Support
Autism Services
Key provides a person-centered approach to autism services and supports. Developed in 2008 as part of the Developmental Services Autism Spectrum Disorder Pilot Program, this new program addresses the needs of individuals with autism and families to increase each person’s ability to live independently and enhance community participation. Designed for individuals over the age of 18 who have received a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder, Autism Services provides guidance in Life Skills Coaching, Community Mentoring, and Behavior Management services. Individuals may receive one or more of these areas of services, depending on their specific needs.
Individualized Home Supports
Individualized Home Supports provides supports tailored to individual needs in an apartment setting in the Greater Hartford and Greater Waterbury Areas of Connecticut. These services are designed to maximize each individual’s independence and ability to make choices concerning their life. Assistance is available to support people to secure friendships, locate safe, affordable housing, find employment and develop and maintain daily living skills.
Individualized Day Support
Key staff provide Individualized Day Supports throughout the State of Connecticut. Services and supports are provided to an individual to achieve personal goals related to work, community participation, or retirement activities.
Supported Homes
Supported Homes provides a comprehensive and individualized residential support system for children, adolescents and adults with special needs. A supported home is a licensed foster care arrangement that matches a child or adult with intellectual disabilities with a private family to live in their home for long-term care and education.
Youth Transition
The Key Youth Transition Program provides services to youth in apartment settings. Each person age 16 to 21 receives up to 58 hours of Direct Support Professional support each week and has access to a program manager 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies. Services include assistance with daily living activities, maintenance of good health and pursuit of education and vocational training. During this time of transition to adulthood, adolescents learn the skills necessary to become more independent, assume more adult responsibilities and ultimately thrive as productive members of their communities. The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) funds this program.

Birth to Three
Birth to Three is an early intervention program designed to meet the needs of children demonstrating significant delays in one or more areas of development and their families. An individualized plan of support is developed for each child in partnership with the family based on their desired outcomes and resources. By providing services in natural environments such as the family’s home, the child’s day care or a community program, Birth to Three supports children and families to build positive relationships and create opportunities for growth throughout daily routines. In addition to service coordination, services may include speech, physical or occupational therapy, special education or a variety of other supports.
