It's the law. A registered nurse must be on call 24 hours a day, every day.
In 1995, the State of Connecticut passed a law requiring that registered personnel be available around the clock by phone to all unlicensed staff working in community living arrangements when delegated tasks are performed.
KEY Service Systems RN On Call program is your key source for qualified registered nurses. Our nurses are specially trained in caring for developmentally disabled individuals. Nurses who don't have knowledge of state regulations governing the mentally retarded and who don't have experience working in licensed facilities simply cannot meet your needs.
RN on Call offers qualified nurses and much more. KEY will provide guidelines and policy statements for your agency to comply with required state laws. This service is a sound insurance policy. The risk of licensing problems and liability losses are greatly reduced by having a KEY nurse at your service.
