Capital Area Head Start: Head Start Involves Men
Connect with H.I.M. (Head Start Involves Men) is a movement that Captial Area Head Start (CAHS) is working on to enhance the involvement of the men in our program. We understand that every child deserves a dad or significant male that they can count on. Someone who loves them, knows them, guides them and helps them achieve their goals. We are here to help support the men that are currently involved and encourage the men that are not so involved. We have put forth intentional efforts to getting them involved through workshops and community outreach. The program is in constant search of workshop presenters and volunteers in the classroom. We have workshops with dads and their Head Start children and we've managed to have fun activities as well, such as fishing, golfing, literacy, make it/take it. The men in the program have been responsive and our staff are making special efforts to continue the movement.
