Capital Area Head Start:
Head Start Involves Men

Children at play

Connect with H.I.M. (Head Start Involves Men) is a movement that Capital Area Head Start (CAHS) is working on to enhance the involvement of the men in our program. We understand that every child deserves a dad or significant male that they can count on. Someone who loves them, knows them, guides them and helps them achieve their goals. We are here to help support the men that are currently involved and encourage the men that are not so involved. We have put forth intentional efforts to encourage participation in the program through workshops and community outreach. The program is always looking for workshop presenters and volunteers in the classroom. We have held workshops for dads and their Head Start children and we've incorporated fun activities as well, such as fishing, golfing, literacy, and make it/take it. The men in the program have been responsive and our staff are making special efforts to continue the movement.
