Lace up your running shoes and get ready to take “Steps for Birth to Three” in Key Human Services’ 9th Annual 5K Run, One Mile Walk, and Kids’ Sprint!
This year’s race has a superhero theme! Come dressed as your favorite superhero, whether it’s a hero from the comic books or movies or a real life hero. For children ages 12 and under, there will be a costume contest. Costumes are welcome for all ages, but aren’t required.
The race will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the scenic West Hartford Reservoir. It’s the perfect addition to your race schedule, whether you’re planning on running your first 5K or if you’re a seasoned runner looking to include a 5K in your racing schedule.
Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., and the One Mile Walk begins at 9:15 a.m.
The Kids’ Sprint starts at 8:45 a.m. and is open to children up to 12 years of age. All children will receive an award for participating.
West Hartford Reservoir is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your four-legged running partner.
The 5K, One Mile Walk, and Kids’ Sprint benefit Key Human Services’ Birth to Three Program, an early intervention program that provides direct services and support to children who have a significant delay and their families. Birth to Three supports children to develop at a pace similar to their peers. Proceeds will provide assistance to families through our scholarship program.
Runners and walkers can register in person at Key’s office at 1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 1A, Wethersfield, CT 06109 from September 5-8 (checks only). Race day registration will also be available.
