Resources Needed

The following resources are needed to support a comprehensive program of psycho-social rehabilitation:

  1. Additional psychologists and counselors to assist the children and families of Beslan
  2. A comprehensive long-term plan for post-traumatic stress counseling for Beslan children, families and the community at large
  3. Training and consultations in post-traumatic stress and Critical Incident Debriefing for psychologists and counselors working in Beslan
  4. A psychological rehabilitation center for long-term counseling and therapy to assist children and families in recovery and healing
  5. Internet connections for psychologists and counselors working in Beslan to assist in consultations and education
  6. Additional computers and software for use in counseling and therapy
  7. Toys and rehabilitation equipment for use in play therapy and counseling
  8. An apartment and training center for use of visiting volunteer psychologists and counselors
  9. Direct financial aid to children and families injured in the Beslan attack
  10. In-home support to children experiencing disabilities from their wounds so that they can return home to Beslan and attend school as soon as possible
  11. An accessible school so that children with disabilities have the option of attending school with their classmates
