Keystone runs on volunteer power
Warren Felty, father of KHS President, Dennis Felty
Pictured in the photo to the right is a remarkable gentleman who believes that Volunteering is inspired by the “V” in L-O-V-E.
“Reading to the children is how I feel connected to my values, my own vitality, and to Keystone’s Vision of changing the world,” remarks Warren Felty, who happens to be father of KHS President, Dennis Felty.
“I believe that through volunteering, we can change the world one life at a time … and if my spending time with the children at Capital Area Head Start touches one little heart or one deserving family, what more could a 91-year-young man ask for?”
Perhaps you or someone you know is looking for a personal way to connect with Keystone’s commitment to “Advancing the Human Spirit.” Some volunteers read to children while others plant trees, paint walls, decorate for special events or even wrap gifts at the mall for Keystone’s holiday fundraiser. Still others serve in leadership capacities, bringing their invaluable experience and knowledge to our many Boards of Directors.
And for extra encouragement, don’t forget that scientific studies show that people who volunteer experience greater health, happiness and fulfillment in their lives. And who doesn’t want to live a longer, happier life?
Whatever your skills or interests, Keystone’s vast array of programs and activities provides ample opportunity for anyone who’s looking to make a difference. Take a cue from Warren Felty … There are no limits, age or otherwise, to remaining active and involved in strengthening your community.
